- 2001, Tom Zenk's internet shoot interviewws alerted a wider audience to
what industry insiders already knew -
that
many of wrestling's so-called 'great' careers were the product of political
machination and intrigue by promoters, bookers, their families and favorites,
- and
not least, by the big name wrestlers themselves. The means used to kill
or crown wrestlers was 'vindictive booking' and 'the power of the
[booking] pencil',now freely acknowledged
by former
bookers such as Dusty Rhodes.
